Activity
Hosted by the Maritime Authority of Jamaica (with the support of the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management, ODPEM).

Aim: To improve on training prior training in National Contingency Planning/Oil Spill Preparedness and response Cooperation, with a view to upgrade existing draft NCP;

  • Through exercise, give practical scenarios that were aimed at preparing the stakeholders to work together in the event of a spill;
  • Assess their National Oil Spill Preparedness and Response Program;
  • To identify the gaps in the existing draft NCP. The ODPEM, being the National Coordinator, was better able to prepare further workshop, with the stakeholders awareness of their roles, and will be better able to complete the NCP for Cabinet submission.
